Food/Dining : Fish Creek
Review

Bayside Tavern
Hwy 42 right after the turn north
920-868-3441
W, L/D (+fish frys)

Don't let the name fool you this is a good restaurant and a great old tavern! We have eaten here several times for lunch and dinner, and the food has been consistently good. Great burgers we were starving at 9:45 PM in April, and not much was opened. We called ahead to Bayside, and they were nice enough to let us order two½ pound burgers just 5 minutes before the kitchen closed and when we arrived there, we sat at the bar, and the burgers were ready! Nice ambiance, fish frys on Fridays, and a good old country bar feel to the place. Lots and lots of locals go to this place, and many other shop owners.

On the weekend evenings, they usually have live music good bands playing good music. It does get loud in here and there is usually a cover charge of a few dollars. The crowd is a mixture of lots of locals and tourists, usually in the late 20's - early 30's age group. It's a friendly bar, but you will see that lots of people in here know each other, and are talking to them - so you might not get into too many conversations here unless you know someone or are particularly outgoing. Also, some have said, "this bar can get rough." That said, we?ve had a lot of fun in here. Definitely one of the best burgers around!

scott massey

bartender - bayside tavern, fish creek

In Bayside there works a bartender, a man named Scott.
Some say he’s the best around, we kid you not.
Long hair, now short, his style is always changing.
If you’re on the other side, you’ll never be complaining.
From time to time, he likes to flirt.
Sometimes he’s working fast, but he’s never curt.
Slide on in and wet your spout, because
Under Scott’s influence you’ll dance, sing and shout!

Bayside Tavern in Fish Creek (Door County) has excellent Philly cheese steak sandwiches, bloody mary's, and the Bayside Flaming Coffee (Rum, Bailey's, Kahlua). Excellent place for lunch, probably dinner, too, although we go there always for lunch.
